All of the characters from Wicked Lovely are back but their roles are reversed; the background characters are now forefront in Ink Exchange. Characters that were flat now have depth and characters that were fully formed still have all the charm they had in the first book. All in all it was a wonderful urban fantasy book that really boils down to choices and their consequences. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves this genre like I do.

Told from the point of view of three different characters, Ink Exchange will have you wondering, as you drive through dark alleys, if that stranger you just passed is human or not. As with Wicked Lovely, the prose is poignant and lyrical. The words flow beautifully. The story is based around a tattoo. A tattoo that not only satisfies its owner, but introduces her to a world she never knew existed. The story delves into addictions and temptations, offering insights into how this world, and our world, suffer because of them. But also, the plot proves that addictions can be beaten—can be conquered. From start to finish, the plot flows smoothly. The end is satisfying…yet I want more. I thought the line that Leslie walked throughout the book was a well-written, roller coaster of emotion and an excellent example of the inner battle of ''Needs vs. Wants''.
